​​The ISTH Congress offers a variety of resources and activities for early career professionals including Master Classes, Career Development Sessions and the Early Career Lounge. Learn more about those offerings below:

Early Career Session - Saturday, June 21, 08:00-10:30
Topic: Diverse career paths within and outside of academia
This session requires pre-registration and is for Early Career/Reach the World attendees ONLY.

Developed by the ISTH Early Career Committee, this session will be a unique opportunity for early career professionals to learn about the variety of career paths available and advice for how to prepare for transitions, interviews and becoming a leader. The program will include a Welcome Message from ISTH President Pantep Angchaisuksiri, a series of talks showcasing the career journeys of notable professionals in the field. Attendees will also participate in round table discussions covering advice on how to use their training to prepare for a career outside of academia, how to design their CV and market themselves, how to start a lab, and more.

Career Development Sessions:
The ISTH Career Development Sessions are targeted towards clinical and research fellows, postdoctoral researchers, as well as faculty in the early stages of their career. Each small group will consist of young investigators with similar career interests allowing them to meet with leaders in the field that are well-known and established investigators. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the topic or discuss scenarios they have encountered on the topic, get career advice, and even establish life-long connections, an important aspect of the ISTH.
Situated in small groups of 15 attendees per session, speakers will be asked to give a short introduction (5 minutes) to help break the ice and get everyone comfortable, after which there will be an informal and interactive exchange of questions and discussion. Attendees will be required to pre-book their spot for each class.
The Career Development Sessions will be on Sunday, June 22, through Tuesday, June 24, from 07:00 – 7:45 and from 12:15 – 13:00.

Master Classes:
The ISTH Master Class Sessions are specifically targeted towards Early Career and Reach-the-World at attendees. These sessions will allow them to meet with leaders in the field and well-known and established investigators. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the topic or discuss scenarios they have encountered on the topic, get career advice and establish life-long connections, an important aspect of the ISTH.
Situated in small groups of 30 attendees per session, speakers will be asked to give a short introduction to help break the ice and get everyone comfortable, after which there will be an informal and interactive exchange of questions and discussion. Attendees will be required to pre-book their spot for each class.
The Master Classes will be held on Sunday, June 22, through Tuesday, June 24, from 07:00 – 7:45 and from 12:15 – 13:00.

The Early Career Committee (ECC) invites you to join us at the ISTH Washington, D.C. Early Career Lounge! Located in Room 102 A, this space is tailored to early career professionals. Enjoy networking opportunities and an exclusive space to take a break from 10:30 – 17:00 Saturday; 09:00 – 17:00 Sunday - Tuesday. See a schedule of activities hosted by the ISTH ECC below:

16:00 – 17:00: Networking with Industry: Research careers outside academia
Join for an informal Meet & Greet with leading professionals working in industry- continuing the conversation from the ISTH Washington, D.C. Early Career Session on research careers beyond academia. Connect, ask questions, and gain real-world insights into careers outside the traditional academic track.
